I’ve been working for clothing company Atomic Hard Wear for most of this year, designing logos and animations for their web site and merchandising line. Ray, the owner, wanted an atomic symbol as the main graphic so we spent a few weeks toying with various versions before deciding on this industrial-looking, bolted girder effect.

I was commissioned to come up with a suitably dynamic image for this year’s High Jump freestyle diving competition here in the Czech Republic. Much of the artwork I’d seen for similar events had been from photographic sources that focused mostly on side shots so I wanted instead to use an improbable POV to heighten the drama of the dive. Using under-lighting, I was able to bring out an urgency to the face and hands and utilised the natural cliff shapes in the background to force speed and perspective. For the text, I created a style that merged both techno and retro themes, mimicking those racy pulp cover titles of the 50’s. The weight of the title grounds what would be a top heavy composition without it.
The new print of this poster is now available. minus text, from the print section of the BRUTE! blog shop.

After my month-long residency at Mad Bar, the owners thought my stuff might work for an advertising hoarding they planned to install at a crossroads near the bar so I offered them this illustration of a party girl which, after a few minor changes, they accepted.
By coincidence, the printers I use was printing it out while I was in there with another job.
The finished article was erected yesterday and I include a photo of the poster..
To view the ad, get yourself down to Ujezd, Mala Strana, Prague 5.
The location is half way between Smichov and Mad Bar itself (on Plaska).
During my long-postponed visit to the UK this month, I came across a number of original artworks.
Stored in air-tight folders and packed into a steel chest, items from the early to late 90’s (including a number of animation frames and storyboards from the two animations I did for KMFDM) came to light as well as a treasure trove of ink originals, sketch books, silkscreens and graphic porn – all in perfect condition.
Discovery of lost 9/11 series.
I will be auctioning many of these rare items on eBay in a month or so, so please keep watching this space.
