Copenhagen Climax: XXX movie poster

Editor of Film Rage magazine, movie producer and fellow film buff, Thomas Eikrem, commissioned me to create a suitably sexy poster for Hans Fredrick von Liljewahl’s upcoming B-movie, Copenhagen Climax. As the production had yet to have a proper script at that stage, I had little to work on other than a brief outline concerning two lovely girls up to hi-jinx in the aforementioned Danish city so I roughed out a series of  minimalist ideas based on the theme.

At first, my unorthodox take on the idea (the movie is shot in the style of a 70s porno) were thought to be unrepresentative of the period but, after discussiosn with the other producers and director, the poster was deemed satisfactory.

BRUTE! photos unearthed.

An old friend contacted me recently telling me she’d discovered some old photos of myself and fellow BRUTE! author, Malcolm Bennett, taken when we were publicising our unique range of T-shirts. Photographed by Dick Jude (of Forbidden Planet/Titan Publishing) in the then Cafe Munchen in London’s West End circa 1986-7, it shows the youthful literary duo cavorting with two suitably-attired lovelies.

Thanks to Gaye Scrivener (the cute one in the leather skirt) for this trip down memory lane.

Disc Detective – Warner Music catalogue

Back in the early 90s, I was commissioned to illustrate Warner Music’s catalogue. I was pretty much burned out doing these film noir gumshoes so I hesitated at first but eventually capitulated when writer Ian Dewhirst added more characters.

Despite some negative reactions from the suits at Warner’s, it went on to win a D&AD advertising award for Best Corporate Campaign.
