With this recent commission for the forthcoming Le Accelerator, I got to realise one of my earliest creative dreams – to design a kung-fu movie poster. As opposed to aping those bold and furious designs used by the Chinese film industry in the 70s, I instead applied a minimalist technique to create a cleaner and more noir-ish effect, emphasising the impact of a kick through dynamic use of shadows, creases and perspective.

I‘ve never been known for producing fantasy images but here’s one I’m working on for a client’s tattoo.
The image will be part of a wrap-around design intended for one of his calves and will also feature the legendary Japanese swordsman Miyamoto Musashi.

I plan to do a proper Tony Jaa in the future so until I have the time, here’s a quickie Fotoshite. Needless to say, with Jet and Jackie out of the way, this guy is the new King of the Celluloid ring – no contenders.
